Mr. Reynolds was born in October and his hometown is Bourne, MA (Bourne High Class of 1987). He began his education at Cape Cod Community College and then earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Bridgewater State College.
Favorite teacher? My 7th Grade History teacher, Mr. Fedge. I can remember sitting in his classroom back in 1981-82, thinking to myself, this is what I want to be when I grow up! If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt? Something to do with the outdoors or sports related. I formally owned several of my own businesses and did well but I wanted to share my passion of history. Do you have pets? No pets as of now but I promised my two boys, Nathan and Sam, I would get them some sort of reptile or lizard (something without fur). Favorite Color? Purple – is there really any other choice? Favorite Quote or Saying? “Serenity Now!” Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled? I spent two weeks in China as part of a student tour back in 2006. Favorite Food? I could probably eat pepperoni pizza every day. Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in? I spent most of my time as a chauffeur for kids' activities and I help out coaching several of their sports teams. When I do have any spare time, I like to read about historic events and people. I have also been a Red Sox Season Ticket holder since 1994. Ms. Riggle was born in January and her hometown is Acushnet, MA. She went to Bridgewater State (College at the time, now University) for her Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed, and to American International College for her Master’s in Elementary Ed, along with getting a Reading Specialist license.
Favorite teacher? Mrs. Blouin, my second grade teacher at Acushnet Elementary School. She always used to say, “easy for some, difficult for others.” I think that quote alone made me want to get into teaching. I wanted to understand why it was difficult for others, and how I could help. If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt? I’d be a librarian (or a singer). Favorite teacher? Señor Barrett was my first Spanish teacher in high school. He was a dedicated teacher and passionate about Spanish. I learned to speak Spanish in his class. Favorite teacher? Sister Rosemary who taught at my elementary school, Holy Innocents, she was a first grade teacher (I always wanted to teach first grade and finally did). She was an amazing teacher, and she taught me how to read and I learned to love phonics. She also taught me many songs and games. We had 38 first graders in her class. I’m not sure how she did that! If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt? I was a meeting and event planner before I decided to go back into teaching. I did that for 12 years. I loved it. But I also wanted to teach. So most likely, I would be doing that. Do you have pets? I did, but he passed away, a Yorkshire Terrier named Jack Favorite Color? He went to college for his BA at University of Massachusetts- Amherst (Isenberg School of Management) and MA (Teaching) at University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth. Favorite teacher? Mrs. Sylvia (Wareham High- DECA Teacher). Mrs. Sylvia had an amazing ability to connect with her students and develop strong relationships. She possessed the unique talent of knowing exactly when and how hard to push/challenge students while reallying focusing on developing areas of weakness. It was evident as a student how much she cared and how hard she worked to make you a better student and person. If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt? Favorite teacher? My favorite teacher of all time was my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Quinlan at Summer Street Elementary School in Lynnfield MA. She was not only beautiful, her voice was soft, kind and loving. As a child, I knew intuitively I could trust her. To her unknown credit, I believe she played a major role in my desire to “give back” & follow a career path into the teaching profession. If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt? Business. Growing up in a generational entrepreneur publishing/public relations family, discussing around our daily dinner table my dad’s events of the day, cemented a business way of looking at life that has served me well throughout my adult life & would have been a prevailing career if not for the teaching opportunity I pursued. Do you have pets? When my children were younger, we had many dogs. As my children became older and we were often at sports events or traveling, we felt having too many animals was unfair to them if we could not be home long enough for them to flourish. Instead, I indulged in classroom fish and just loved having them for years for my students to feed, take care of, and name. Favorite Color? Blue is my favorite color because it is bright and cheerful. However, if you asked any of my friends, they would say fuchsia is my favorite as I MUST have any clothing or jewelry I find in that color! Favorite Quote or Saying? “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” - Steve Jobs I like this quote as I interpret it to mean, stay determined, stay interested, take chances. Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled? Traveling to Australia for my sons USA Lacrosse games was the furthest I have ever traveled. Although I loved traveling to Hawaii multiple times, I believe the 30 hour flight to “The Land Down Under,” beats the 14 hour flights to Hawaii! Favorite Food? Unfortunately, my favorite food is typically sugar based and bought in the candy aisle. Although I don’t eat a lot of junk, if an open bag of M&M’s exists in front of me, well, it won’t last long. Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in? For decades I have had the great fortune to run alongside the canal on Mashnee Dike in the early morning hours. Some people wonder how I could be doing this run for decades day after day. I don’t. I treasure each run in paradise and they never get old with the salty air, chirping birds overhead, and crashing waves in the distant canal. Ms. O'Brien was born in November and her hometown is Abington, MA (now Sandwich). She went to college at Boston University.
