Favorite teacher? My favorite teacher was Mrs. Haight. I met her my freshman year in high school. She made learning fun and exciting. It was because of her that I went into education. She not only cared about me as a student, but as a whole person! If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? Marine Biologist - I would love to study, work and play with sea creatures! Do you have pets? No, but I secretly want a dog (but don’t tell my children ;) Favorite color? PURPLE!!!! Favorite teacher? Professor Dushku when I was at Suffolk University. She was passionate about international politics, about the importance of activism, and she made you feel as if your opinion, and work mattered. If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? If I was not in education I would be doing humanitarian work. I have worked for a non-profit organization in the past and know that I would love to continue to work to help those around the world achieve what many of us take for granted in the United States. Do you have pets? Yes, our wonderful dog Sophia. We adopted her 6 years ago from a shelter in South Carolina. Favorite color? My favorite color has always been purple. The fact that it is the school color was a wonderful coincidence! Favorite Quote or Saying? I love the Maya Angelou quote from the Poem Phenomenal Women “I am women Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.” It is important as a woman, a mother of four phenomenal girls, a wife, an aunt, a daughter, a granddaughter, a teacher, a role model, a leader, a peer, that I am happy with who I am, who I have grown to be, and how I work to positively interact with others. It is important for our youth to know that our quirkiness and our imperfections, are part of what makes us phenomenal. Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled? I went to Morocco many years ago. I explored Casa Blanca, Fez, and Marrakesh which was very different than any other trip I have gone on. To explore such a different culture and land gave me a greater appreciation for all rights and opportunities we have in American society. Favorite Food? I love a Thanksgiving Day sandwich. It has to have cranberry sauce to make it spectacular. Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in? When I am not teaching, advising Student Council or Model UN, I spend time with my family. My husband and I tend to spend a lot of time at the soccer field with my 3 older girls and chasing my little one around. I will say it is coming up on my favorite time of year in which we celebrate the 25 Days of Christmas. Taking time each night to spend time with family and friends is what is most meaningful to me. Ms. Green was born in May and her hometown is Millis, MA (Plymouth for the last 20 years). She went to college at Bridgewater State University (undergraduate) and Wheelock College in Boston (master’s degree).
Favorite teacher? My favorite teacher was my first grade teacher, Mrs. Pierce. She taught me to love reading and writing and also always had some way of knowing exactly the right thing to do or say to let each student know that she cared. If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? When I absolutely can no longer teach kindergarten teach I would love to teach Early Childhood at the college level and/or write curriculum full time. Do you have pets? A cocker spaniel, Gracie Green, who according to my own two kids is “my favorite child!” Favorite color? Green (yes, really!) I’m very crafty, love Disney World and Harry Potter, spend a lot of time with my dog, and am happiest when I’m with my husband Shawn and two kids, Katelyn and Joey. Ms. Hawkes was born in October and her hometown is Bourne, MA. She went to college at Regis College for undergrad and Wheelock College for her graduate degree.
Favorite teacher? My fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Cataldo, because she made learning fun by using a variety of activities. She also laughed a lot and found humor in most situations. Favorite teacher? I had many favorite teachers Mrs. Gough 7 and 8 Grade Language Arts. She was an excellent teacher, made learning interesting, and was a bit irreverent which I enjoyed. If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? Lawyer or Salvage old houses. There is a show called Salvage Dawgs, I’d like to work for them. Do you have pets?
