If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? I would like to an Olympic Ice Hockey player, of course!  :)
Do you have pets? I do not have any pets, but I have always wanted a horse!

Ms. Rubin was born in March and her hometown is Westfield, MA.  She went to college at Framingham State University.

Favorite teacher? I have two favorite teachers.  My second grade teacher, Mrs. Smith. She had such pretty white curly hair.  Another favorite teacher was my high school music teacher, Mr. McDowell.  He always made me laugh, he would always say "you done good" and he always made learning fun!
If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? I would like to be a television reporter.
Do you have pets? Yes, a cute black and white cat name Aria.

Ms. McKanna was born in May and her hometown is Mt. Vernon, NY (adjacent to the Bronx, NYC).  She went to college at MIT.

Favorite teacher? H.S. Physics/AP Physics.  he was highly intelligent, wacky, cute, and believed in me far more than I did.  He was a father figure and mentor, even teaching me how to drive.
If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? Didn't even consider teaching until I was 30! B.S. was in Earth Sciences, M.S. was in natural resources and land use policy/planning.  Started PhD in political science (natural resources/international relations). Graduated first in class at Police Academy.  I would like to work with one of the intelligence agencies, working in counter-terrorism. Or with FEMA, planning for response to natural disasters.  Or doing accident investigation with NTSB.  Or a district attorney.
Do you have pets? Dog (Skittles); cats (Misty, Trixie, Spunky, and Pumpkin); birds, zebra finches (at least a dozen, number changes frequently despite being in separate male and female cages.  They manage to defy science and procreate - frequently); and a 50 gallon tropical community aquarium.

Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in? Reading!!!  Hiking in conservation areas with my dog.  Playing the flute, semi-professionally.  Bowling.  Making Ukrainian Eggs.

Ms. Casey was born in August and her hometown is Scituate, MA.  She went to college at St. Michael's College and Lesley University.

Favorite teacher? I had a few - but Professor Reiss, English Teacher at SMC, pushed me to pursue my love of literature.  He was witty, passionate, and he cared.  We kept in touch after my graduation for many years before he died, suddenly.  He is still my inspiration.
If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? I would like to be a certified Reiki instructor.
Do you have pets? Not anymore - but I loved my dogs!

I wrote poetry and have since elementary school.  Love gardening, hiking in the woods, kayaking and baking.  I enter 5k races with the goal to finish.  What I enjoy the most is spending time with my family, grandkids and friends.  It doesn't get better than that.

​Ms. Hirt was born in December and her hometown is Plymouth, MA.  She went to college at University of Maine at Machias for her Bachelors and Massachusetts Maritime Academy for her Masters.

Favorite teacher? Ms. Angelique Lavalee, a peer at my university who became a marine biology teacher - she never gave up on finding ways to help each student learn in a way that was best for them.
If you were not in education, what other profession would you like to attempt? I am attempting two professions at the same time! I began as a field scientist studying and rescuing marine animals in New England.  I still act as a first responder with marine life and conduct whale watches over the summers all over Cape Cod.  Teaching was a natural transition from practicing science formally to bringing it into the classroom!
Do you have pets? I have one sweetheart of a dog, a ten year old Boxer named Nala.  But does feeding the birds count?  I love wildlife!
