Ms. Buckley was born in September and her hometown is Cotuit, MA.  She went to college at Cambridge College for her Master's degree.
Favorite teacher?  
Mrs. Deese,because she told me I could write, and that stuck with me.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I can't imagine not being in education, because I wanted to reach since I was a little girl. At this point in my life, I guess would be to run a shelter for senior dogs who need a kind home.
Do you have pets?   Yes, a rescue dog named Kori
Favorite Color?  Blue

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Africa - I loved the people and the animals so much.
Favorite Food?  All food, I can't even think of anything I don't like
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love walking my dog, and I love crafts. I'm now trying my hand at pebble art.

Mr. Dow was born in July and his hometown is Lakeville, MA.  He went to college at Stonehill College, Emerson College.

Mr. Lagadec (English -- Grade 10) The day after John Lennon died, Mr. Lagadec brought his guitar to class and sang John Lennon songs as a tribute.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   painter
Do you have pets?   Bella -- Portuguese Water Dog

Gail O'Hara, Bournedale 4th grade teacher

​Ms. O-Hara was born in February and her hometown is Plymouth, MA (but Bourne has been my hometown for the last 20 years).  She went to college at Bridgewater State College.
Favorite teacher?  
Mrs. Thompson was my favorite teacher when I was in High School.  She was very enthusiastic about her subject: History. She had been in the military so she had real experiences to share.  She was also very kind and encouraged students to do their best.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   If I wasn’t a teacher, I think a photographer would be a fun job to have.  I love to take pictures of people and nature. I would love to have more time to get better at it!
Do you have pets?   A cat - she is only one years old.  She was born in my backyard and we rescued her.
Favorite Color?  Aquamarine

Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I am not involved in any organization right now but my family was a host family and I was a board member for the Bourne Braves organization for many years.  It was a great way to spend our summers when my children were younger!!

Nicole Tanguay, Peebles 4th grade teacher

​Ms. Tanguay was born in June and her hometown is Sandwich, MA.  She went to college at Westfield State College.
Favorite teacher?  
My favorite teacher was my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Mulkeen.  He always made learning fun. I remember one math problem he gave us where he promised that anyone who could hand-write the numbers from 1-1,000,000 in a weekend would get straight A’s for the rest of the year and he would bring them cookies and juice every day.  All of us thought we could do it and some of us tried very hard. Little did we know it is actually impossible to do in a weekend!
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   When I was in college there was a small period of time where I was deciding between being a child psychologist and a teacher, but really I have wanted to teach ever since I was in the 1st grade!
Do you have pets?   No, but my daughter is really pushing for a puppy!
Favorite Color?  Yellow
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “It’s not where, but who you are with that really matters.”
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   France and Italy
Favorite Food?  Pasta and chocolate
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   Keeping up with my 5 year old daughter keeps me busy, but in my free time I love to read, spend time at the beach, and hang out with friends and family.

Theresa Clifford, BMS 7th grade math teacher

​Ms. Clifford was born in November (I have my 50 year milestone this year.  How did that happen?) and her hometown is Brockton, MA (but we moved to Bourne 15 years ago).  She went to college at Babson College (Undergraduate) and Fitchburg State University (Graduate).
Favorite teacher?  
My favorite teacher was Dr. Sue Szachowicz.  She was my sophomore history teacher. She brought history to life in her room with the world globe painted on the floor.  She was and still is an amazing educator.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I have already been in the business world, however if there was any other profession it would be an Archaeologist.  I have always been interested in those time periods that came way before we were even thought of.
Do you have pets?   I have a 9 month old yellow lab puppy name Brock
Favorite Color?  Any color blue.
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “Those who say the can and those who say they can’t are usually both right”
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Dublin, Ireland
Favorite Food?  Caserta’s Pizza in Providence RI
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love to go boating, reading, and I am looking to take up pottery this summer.

Kerry DeGowin, Bournedale 1st grade teacher

​Ms. DeGowin was born in November and her hometown is Bourne, MA (she graduated from Bourne High in 1992).  She went to college at Clark University and Bridgewater State.
Favorite teacher?  
I have so many favorites who have challenged me and inspired me. That is probably why I chose to go into education. One of my favorites is Mrs. Cristadoro. She was always kind and understanding, listening to kids and cheering them on. I was so fortunate to not only have her for first grade but to also teach alongside her at Hoxie and Bournedale. She continues to be a role model for me.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I love animals, and I would have enjoyed working with exotic animals in a zoo.
Do you have pets?   Yes, I have a yellow lab named Bella, a cat, and a small flock of chickens.
Favorite Color?  I love periwinkle.

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Although I am not a world traveler, I love to escape with my family to the White Mountains of New Hampshire whenever I get the chance. You can find me in a tent near the river. ☺
Favorite Food?  Lobster…served anyway. ☺
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love to go bike riding, hiking, and camping with my family. I also enjoy gardening, planting a large vegetable garden in the spring.

Kerri Evans, BMS 7th grade science teacher

​Ms. Evans was born in August and her hometown is Rockland, MA.  She went to college at UMass Amherst--Undergraduate degree in Microbiology and UMass Lowell--Master’s Degree in Education.
Favorite teacher?  
Mr. Quist was my chemistry teacher in high school and he was enthusiastic about the subject and really made learning fun.  If students didn’t understand something, he would explain it many different ways until they did. I had many great teachers, but he stood out as being one who not only inspired a love of science, but also an interest in teaching.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Something science-related at a place like Disney World...or Zamboni  driver
Do you have pets?   Not at the moment
Favorite Color?  Purple and green

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Russia (but when it was still the Soviet Union (1990)

Laura (nee Weeks) Booker, BHS chemistry teacher

Ms. Booker was born in May and her hometown is Easton, MA.  She went to college at Bryant University and Bridgewater State University (Graduated from Bridgewater).
Favorite teacher?  
My high school Chemistry teacher Mrs. Schleicher because she was so passionate about the subject and she is the reason I fell in love with Chemistry. She made it fun and interesting and I always wanted to learn more.  I still keep in touch with her to this day 10 years later and try to go visit her once a school year.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I always wanted to be a nurse if I wasn’t a teacher.
Do you have pets?   I have a labradoodle, her name is Harley and a cat, his name is Benny.
Favorite Color?  Purple

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Hawaii
Favorite Food?  Steak and potatoes
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I play soccer outside of school both indoors and outdoors all year round and try to travel whenever I can and visit new places.

Ms. Doyle-Hogue was born in August and her hometown is Duxbury, MA.  She went to college at Quinnipiac University.
Favorite teacher?  
My 9 th grade History and EHAP teacher, Mrs. DeOrsay. I loved her way of incorporating art into her history lesson plans as
means of teaching. The lesson on the symbolism of Renaissance art and her use of “The Arnolfini” was one of the most memorable and interesting lessons. I still consider the field trip to the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum and the scavenger
hunt she created to be one of the most amazing learning experiences I had in high school. I consider her an inspiration in how I approach teaching my content and she is why I became a teacher.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   An attorney or a chef
Do you have pets?   No
Favorite Color?  Yellow
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “No matter where you are going, there you are”
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Russia
Favorite Food?  Medittereanean Cuisine
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I enjoy the warmer weather as it allows for me to take my daughter to play outside. I love going on long walks on the Shining Sea Bikeway and spending time on our boat in Woods Hole in the summertime. I also enjoy cooking and experiment with new, creative recipes.
