Maureen Holden, BMS 5th gr math/science teacher

Ms. Holden was born in September and her hometown is Barnstable, MA.  She attended college at Bridgewater State College.
Favorite teacher?  
I believe we are always learning, saying that, my favorite teachers were ; Steven Ryan, George Tomlinson, Cindy McCann, Eileen Salamone,  Don Mahoney, Bill Sullivan, Jim McQuade and Mary Fuller and really so many more. They taught me so much about how to be a teacher. Their lessons have stayed with me 30 years later.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Meteorologist, I am a weather geek
Do you have pets?   Yes, one dog, Ginger
Favorite Color?   Sky blue
Favorite Quote or Saying?  To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Kazakhstan
Favorite Food?   Walnut Whip, only found in Ireland
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?  At the moment watching my daughter play sports is my most favorite activity. I am also honored to represent our staff as the Bourne Educator Association Vice President.

Judy Lunedei, BMS coding teacher

Ms. Lunedei was born in May and her hometown is Mendham, New Jersey.  She attended college at Providence College (BS) and American International College (MEd).
Favorite teacher?  Mrs. Cronin, she was my teacher in 3rd, 5th and 6th grade.  She made math fun by always connecting our lessons to her travels around the world.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I like to bake desserts and decorate cakes, so maybe a pastry chef.
Do you have pets?   Yes, at my house we have a dog, a bearded dragon, a hamster and 2 fish.
Favorite Color?   blue
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Europe, I backpacked around England, Scotland, France, Spain and Italy after I graduated college.
Favorite Food?   Pizza
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?  I love to run and I coach youth soccer.

Sharon Moore, BMS 8th gr history teacher

Ms. Moore was born in December and her hometown is Westport, CT.  She attended college at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.
Favorite teacher?  My senior year in high school I took a horticulture class with Mr. D - He was the best - we grew vegetables and flowers in the greenhouse. He made science relatable.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Probably become a lawyer- a public defender to help those in need
Do you have pets?   A female chocolate lab named Koko
Favorite Color?   blue
Favorite Quote or Saying?  A sign on my desk reads- “Don’t count the days, make the days count”
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   To Austria- but a few summers ago my family travelled 12,000 miles across the US- best trip ever.
Favorite Food?   Chicken parm
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?  I have been part of the same book club for the past 12 years (although I don’t alway read the books:)), I like to hike, bike and go camping.

Catherine Olson, BMS 6th gr ELA/SS teacher

Ms. Olson was born in December and her hometown is Arlington, Virginia (hard to say, really, as I lived overseas growing up).  She attended college at Connecticut College.
Favorite teacher?  My AP English teacher because we read and discussed all types of literature.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   veterinarian and/or Pilates instructor
Do you have pets?   a dog (golden retriever) and a cat
Favorite Color?   any bright color
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “Be Kind Anyway….” (a prayer/poem from Mother Teresa)
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Casablanca, Morocco
Favorite Food?   lasagna, cheeseburgers, dark chocolate and coffee ice cream
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I swim four morning a week with the Masters at Cape Cod Swim Club and I participate in open water swims in the summer.

Dennis Reynolds, BMS 7th gr history teacher

Mr. Reynolds was born in October and his hometown is Bourne, MA (Bourne High Class of 1987).  He began his education at Cape Cod Community College and then earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Bridgewater State College.
Favorite teacher?  
My 7th Grade History teacher, Mr. Fedge. I can remember sitting in his classroom back in 1981-82, thinking to myself, this is what I want to be when I grow up!
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Something to do with the outdoors or sports related. I formally owned several of my own businesses and did well but I wanted to share my passion of history.
Do you have pets?   No pets as of now but I promised my two boys, Nathan and Sam, I would get them some sort of reptile or lizard (something without fur).
Favorite Color?  Purple – is there really any other choice?
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “Serenity Now!”
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   I spent two weeks in China as part of a student tour back in 2006.
Favorite Food?   I could probably eat pepperoni pizza every day.
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I spent most of my time as a chauffeur for kids' activities and I help out coaching several of their sports teams. When I do have any spare time, I like to read about historic events and people. I have also been a Red Sox Season Ticket holder since 1994.

Sara Riggle, BMS 6th gr ELA/SS teacher

Ms. Riggle was born in January and her hometown is Acushnet, MA.  She went to Bridgewater State (College at the time, now University) for her Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed, and to American International College for her Master’s in Elementary Ed, along with getting a Reading Specialist license.
Favorite teacher?  
Mrs. Blouin, my second grade teacher at Acushnet Elementary School.  She always used to say, “easy for some, difficult for others.” I think that quote alone made me want to get into teaching.  I wanted to understand why it was difficult for others, and how I could help.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I’d be a librarian (or a singer).
Do you have pets?   Yes, my oh-so-crazy and lovable Boston Terrier named Bruschi (Go Pats!)
Favorite Color?  Red
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “Be kind whenever possible.  It is always possible.”--Dalai Lama
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Mexico for my honeymoon
Favorite Food?   Just one favorite?  I’d have to say guacamole. I love food!
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   Singing and dancing, especially with my soon to be two year old, going to the beach, watching my oldest play hockey, having fun with my husband, trying new food and cooking (especially with my husband), going to see my dad’s band play, and spending time with family

Mr. Pugh was born in September and his hometown is Hopedale, MA.  He went to college at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. 
Favorite teacher?  
Señor Barrett was my first Spanish teacher in high school. He was a dedicated teacher and passionate about Spanish. I learned to speak Spanish in his class.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Veterinarian
Do you have pets?   Bean, the Boston Terrier and six chickens
Favorite Color?  Green
Favorite Quote or Saying?  The dream is free but the hustle is sold separately.
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Italy or Ecuador, not sure which one is further.
Favorite Food?  Pretty much anything on the menu at the Brewster Fish House!
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love tending flower and vegetable gardens at home. I am Scout Master of Troop 54 in Centerville.

Ms. Murphy was born in October and her hometown is Middleboro, MA.  She went to college for her BA at Bridgewater State University and MA at Emerson College.
Favorite teacher?  
Mr. Joaquim (High School English) He was able to instill a love of reading for enjoyment and fostered individual creativity
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   A chef in a small restaurant that specializes in utilizing organic foods
Do you have pets?   Yes a cockapoo named Dorothy :)
Favorite Color?  Of course it is purple!

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Saint Lucia
Favorite Food?  Homemade pasta
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   In my spare time I love cooking and in the summer I love traveling around Cape Cod and the Islands on our boat, “Anything Goes.”

Kathi Cremeans, Bournedale 1st grade teacher

​Ms. Cremeans was born in February and her hometown is Ocean City, NJ.  She went to college for her BA at St. Leo College, Florida and MA at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA.
Favorite teacher?  
Sister Rosemary who taught at my elementary school, Holy Innocents, she was a first grade teacher (I always wanted to teach first grade and finally did).  She was an amazing teacher, and she taught me how to read and I learned to love phonics. She also taught me many songs and games. We had 38 first graders in her class.  I’m not sure how she did that!
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I was a meeting and event planner before I decided to go back into teaching.  I did that for 12 years. I loved it. But I also wanted to teach. So most likely, I would be doing that.
Do you have pets?   I did, but he passed away, a Yorkshire Terrier named Jack
Favorite Color?  Blue (all shades)
Favorite Quote or Saying?  Love the people God gave you, because he will need them back one day.
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Hawaii
Favorite Food?  Chocolate
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love to hike, read, and swim.

Ryan Doughty, BMS 6th gr math/science teacher

Mr. Doughty was born in August and his hometown is Wareham, MA.  He went to college for his BA at University of Massachusetts- Amherst (Isenberg School of Management) and MA (Teaching) at University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth.
Favorite teacher?  
Mrs. Sylvia (Wareham High- DECA Teacher). Mrs. Sylvia had an amazing ability to connect with her students and develop strong relationships. She possessed the unique talent of knowing exactly when and how hard to push/challenge students while reallying focusing on developing areas of weakness. It was evident as a student how much she cared and how hard she worked to make you a better student and person.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Something in health/fitness (Nutritionist, trainer..etc)
Do you have pets?   A golden retriever named Ares (4 years old).
Favorite Color?  Blue
Favorite Quote or Saying?
