Meg Girouard, BMS 5th grade math/science teacher

Ms. Girouard was born in December and her hometown is Scituate, MA.  She went to college at Southeastern Massachusetts University (now known as UMASS Dartmouth, Cambridge College) for Masters.
Favorite teacher?  Mr. Freitas, my 6th grade teacher was my favorite. He challenged everyone to be their best. He also introduced me to the fantasy genre in literature when we read the Hobbit in class. His ability to positively influence all of his students inspired me to become a teacher.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I would like to write and illustrate children’s books or perhaps I would open up my own coffee/dessert /book shop where people could hang out and read or share their own writing.
Do you have pets?   3 cats; Pooky, Smeagol, and Willow.
Favorite Color?  Greenish blue.
Favorite Quote or Saying?   I can show you to the door, but it is up to you to open it.
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   ​Ireland
Favorite Food?  Marc Anthony’s pepperoni pizza
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?  I like to cook, read, exercise, fish, and spend time with my family.
