Mr. Dow was born in July and his hometown is Lakeville, MA.  He went to college at Stonehill College, Emerson College.
Favorite teacher?  
Mr. Lagadec (English -- Grade 10) The day after John Lennon died, Mr. Lagadec brought his guitar to class and sang John Lennon songs as a tribute.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   painter
Do you have pets?   Bella -- Portuguese Water Dog
Favorite Color?  Purple, of course!

Theresa Clifford, BMS 7th grade math teacher

​Ms. Clifford was born in November (I have my 50 year milestone this year.  How did that happen?) and her hometown is Brockton, MA (but we moved to Bourne 15 years ago).  She went to college at Babson College (Undergraduate) and Fitchburg State University (Graduate).
Favorite teacher?  
My favorite teacher was Dr. Sue Szachowicz.  She was my sophomore history teacher. She brought history to life in her room with the world globe painted on the floor.  She was and still is an amazing educator.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I have already been in the business world, however if there was any other profession it would be an Archaeologist.  I have always been interested in those time periods that came way before we were even thought of.
Do you have pets?   I have a 9 month old yellow lab puppy name Brock
Favorite Color?  Any color blue.

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Dublin, Ireland
Favorite Food?  Caserta’s Pizza in Providence RI
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love to go boating, reading, and I am looking to take up pottery this summer.

Kerry DeGowin, Bournedale 1st grade teacher

​Ms. DeGowin was born in November and her hometown is Bourne, MA (she graduated from Bourne High in 1992).  She went to college at Clark University and Bridgewater State.
Favorite teacher?  
I have so many favorites who have challenged me and inspired me. That is probably why I chose to go into education. One of my favorites is Mrs. Cristadoro. She was always kind and understanding, listening to kids and cheering them on. I was so fortunate to not only have her for first grade but to also teach alongside her at Hoxie and Bournedale. She continues to be a role model for me.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I love animals, and I would have enjoyed working with exotic animals in a zoo.
Do you have pets?   Yes, I have a yellow lab named Bella, a cat, and a small flock of chickens.
Favorite Color?  I love periwinkle.

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Although I am not a world traveler, I love to escape with my family to the White Mountains of New Hampshire whenever I get the chance. You can find me in a tent near the river. ☺
Favorite Food?  Lobster…served anyway. ☺
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I love to go bike riding, hiking, and camping with my family. I also enjoy gardening, planting a large vegetable garden in the spring.

Laura (nee Weeks) Booker, BHS chemistry teacher

Ms. Booker was born in May and her hometown is Easton, MA.  She went to college at Bryant University and Bridgewater State University (Graduated from Bridgewater).
Favorite teacher?  
My high school Chemistry teacher Mrs. Schleicher because she was so passionate about the subject and she is the reason I fell in love with Chemistry. She made it fun and interesting and I always wanted to learn more.  I still keep in touch with her to this day 10 years later and try to go visit her once a school year.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I always wanted to be a nurse if I wasn’t a teacher.
Do you have pets?   I have a labradoodle, her name is Harley and a cat, his name is Benny.
Favorite Color?  Purple

Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Hawaii
Favorite Food?  Steak and potatoes
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I play soccer outside of school both indoors and outdoors all year round and try to travel whenever I can and visit new places.

Heather Doyle-Hogue, BHS social studies teacher

Ms. Doyle-Hogue was born in August and her hometown is Duxbury, MA.  She went to college at Quinnipiac University.
Favorite teacher?  
My 9 th grade History and EHAP teacher, Mrs. DeOrsay. I loved her way of incorporating art into her history lesson plans as
means of teaching. The lesson on the symbolism of Renaissance art and her use of “The Arnolfini” was one of the most memorable and interesting lessons. I still consider the field trip to the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum and the scavenger
hunt she created to be one of the most amazing learning experiences I had in high school. I consider her an inspiration in how I approach teaching my content and she is why I became a teacher.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   An attorney or a chef
Do you have pets?   No
Favorite Color?  Yellow
Favorite Quote or Saying?  “No matter where you are going, there you are”
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   Russia
Favorite Food?  Medittereanean Cuisine
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?   I enjoy the warmer weather as it allows for me to take my daughter to play outside. I love going on long walks on the Shining Sea Bikeway and spending time on our boat in Woods Hole in the summertime. I also enjoy cooking and experiment with new, creative recipes.

Donna Buckley, Peebles 4th grade teacher

Ms. Buckley was born in June and her hometown is Weymouth, MA.  She went to college at Bridgewater State College.
Favorite teacher?  In high school I studied Russian with Miss Perry, who was my very favorite teacher. She made learning the Russian alphabet and all their sounds really fun, and took us to lunch at the Russian Tea Room in Boston. She also
arranged a field trip to a Russian coffee house in Harvard Square to listen to Russian folk music. I felt SO grown up! I also loved my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Pietrowski, whose daughter was a taxidermist, which was the most exotic occupation I had ever heard of at that time!
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   I would like to be a regular on Saturday Night Live, singing with a band and making people laugh. Or work in a craft store. Or a bookstore.
Do you have pets?   I recently adopted an adorable little orange tabby cat named Callie.
Favorite Color?  My favorite colors are the colors of the beach and ocean on a bright sunny day.
Favorite Quote or Saying?  Let There Be Peace On Earth
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?   ​I have visited most the the states in the US, but my farthest out-of-the-country travel was to Aruba.
Favorite Food?  ​The answer to this question has always been “mashed potatoes,” though I actually rarely get a chance to eat them!
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?  I am a beach lover who lives for warm days spent on the beaches of Cape Cod. I enjoy reading a great mystery or historical fiction novel, but spending time with my family is my most favorite activity of all. I am a Member-at-Large on the New School Building Committee, the Peebles School Council, and currently serve as a Building Rep for the Bourne Educators Association.

Michelle Bowlin, Bournedale music teacher & Peebles community connections teacher

Ms. Bowlin was born in March and her hometown is Watertown, MA.  She earned her undergraduate degree at Emmanuel College in Boston and her M.Ed. at Bowie State University in Maryland.
Favorite teacher?  My favorite teacher was my high school band director, Jack Hahn. He inspired me to be a music teacher. When I was in college, I did my student teaching with him and my elementary music teacher, Marilyn Darrick. Mr. Hahn
became my mentor. He inspired me to always give back to my community and even encouraged me to open my music store, Music of the Bay.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   ​I have always wanted to help people, so I think I would be a doctor. Medicine fascinates me.
Do you have pets?   I have a dog named Glory. She is a rat terrier/beagle mix. I also have a long haired cat named Buddy and a short haired cat named Squeeks.
Favorite Color?  My favorite color is red. Have you seen my car?
Favorite Quote or Saying?   People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled?  ​When I was in high school, I toured Europe with The Youth of America Concert Band. We travelled to Belgium, France, Italy, Germany and The Netherlands. That trip changed my life.
Favorite Food?  I love Sushi
Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in?  I am an artistic member of Cranberry Coast Concerts and Director of Camp CCC, a music camp sponsored by Cranberry Coast Concerts. I am also faculty advisor to K-Kids which is sponsored by
Kiwanis, International. I love to play music and sing. I am also an avid reader and enjoy hiking the trails here on Cape Cod with my husband and 3 boys.

Favorite teacher?  Gail McNabb she was my history teacher in 4th and 8th grade and I did an internship with her my senior year of high school. She had a way of making history come alive and be more than dates and facts.

Ms. Cook was born in October and her hometown is Bourne, MA.  She went to college at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Favorite teacher? My favorite teacher was Mrs. Ferguson - English teacher at BHS. She had high expectations and loved the subject she taught.
If you were not in education what other profession would you like to attempt?   Professional sports agent

Hobbies or Activities/Organizations you are active in? I like to do Crossfit.  I'm currently spending most of my time getting my CAGS in Ed Leadership at Bridgewater State.  It doesn't leave me much time for other activities.
